Chapter 1 ("The Avatar State")

"Hmm...sometimes I wish I were just plain smarter. It would sure come in handy as the Avatar."

Chapter 6 ("The Library" and "The Desert")
"I feel like a piece of my own body has just been ripped out. I can't remember a time in my life when Appa wasn't by my side. And now he's gone! Gone!"
Chapter 7 ("The Serpent's Pass")
"The baby is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! It's amazing to watch them celebrate in the midst of all this pain and fighting, but I think the new life came to remind us that life goes on no matter what. I guess this is what living is all about: loving and caring for your family."
Chapter 8 ("The Drill")
In reference to the destruction of the drill: "I almost feel free again, like I used to feel all the time when I went penguin sledding, and riding giant porpoises just for fun--before this war started, before Azula, I like of feel like I'm just Aang again, not Aang the Avatar."
Chapter 9 ("The City of Walls And Secrets")
"I think Long Feng knows a lot more than he lets on. I need to find out what this guy is hiding, but it's going to take a little bit of planning. Right now, I just have to be calm."
Chapter 10 ("Lake Laogai")
"Katara kind of had a crush on Jet--until he put a whole innocent village in danger trying to fight the Fire Nation! That's when Katara decided that she wanted nothing to do with him. I don't mind that part at all."
Chapter 11 ("The Earth King")
"I love Katara! I mean, whoo, I can't believe I admitted that, even if it is just in my own head."
Chapter 12 ("The Guru")
"What am I supposed to do? Do I continue to cleanse the final chakra and let go of katara? Can I give up the person I love most in the world, or do I turn my back on learning to control the Avatar state?"
Chapter 13 ("The Crossroads of Destiny")
"Everything was my fault--again. What if I had made a different choice? What if I had been able to give up katara the first time, cleansed my chakra, and gained control of the Avatar state? maybe the Earth kingdom would now be free. Maybe Azula and Zuko would be defeated. maybe the war would be over."
